It’s a double celebration!

Tacurong’s 64th Foundation Anniversary, dubbed Tacurong Day, on August 3 will mark the opening of the most anticipated 2015 Talakudong Festival.

“We want to start Talakudong Festival on a date that is very important to all of us here in Tacurong,” stated Mayor Lina O. Montilla.

On 3 August 1951, Tacurong was officially declared to become its own municipality from being a mere barangay of Buluan. Through the years, it went through significant changes that pushed it higher on the tiers of economic, social, and political development.

The municipality was then legislated to become a city on September 18, 2000. Tacurongnons celebrate this milestone through the Talakudong Festival.

Other activities lined up for the Tacurong Day celebration are: Parada sang Barangay; Palarong Pinoy; Headgear Parade; and Kasadyahan sa Tacurong.
