Secretary Sueno and Senator Gatchalian all praise for Tacurong City

Mayor Lina Montilla is one of the most outstanding mayors not only in Mindanao but in the entire country.

Commended DILG Secretary, Ismael Sueno, when he visited Tacurong City with Senator Sherwin Gatchalian during the 2016 Talakudong Festival celebration on September 18.

In his message during the event, Secretary Sueno gave emphasis on the PPPP or the Public-Private Partnership Program of the government, and how they will bring the program to the provinces. With PPPP, development will be felt in the countryside because they will bring private investors that can partner with the local government in addressing the community’s needs in infrastructure and investment among others. The secretary also highlighted the incoming program of the president called Citizens’ Watch or Masa Masid where the people in the barangay are asked to be volunteers and take part in the elimination of drugs, criminality, and corruption.

On the other hand, Senator Gatchalian was all praise for the City of Tacurong because of the apparent development he has witnessed from the first time he has visited the city to the present. He emphasized the awards that the city has received through the years under the governance of Mayor Montilla, which makes Tacurong as one of the best cities in the country. The senator also promised that he will help the city mayor strengthen education in the city as it is one of his platforms as a legislator. He also suggested to the city mayor, vice mayor, and city councilors present that the City of Tacurong and Valenzuela City be made sister cities as a sign of long-standing friendship between the two LGUs.

Secretary Sueno and Senator Gatchalian are not strangers to the City of Tacurong; the Senator had been a guest speaker at the 2011 Talakudong Festival while Secretary Sueno prided himself to be a frequent visitor as he only lives in the nearby Koronadal City. (Yen Robles, LGU-Tacurong Information)
