Seed Farm ng mura at dekalidad na binhi ng palay, ipinakita ng City Agri Office sa mga magsasaka ng Tacurong

Ipinakita ng Office for the Agricultural Services – Tacurong City sa mga magsasaka ng lungsod ang walong ektaryang taniman sa Prk. 4 at Prk. 3, Brgy. Rajah Muda kung saan isang Rice Seed Production Project ang sumisibol upang makapagparami ng sariling binhi ng palay ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Tacurong na kalaunan ay ibebenta sa mas murang halaga bilang tulong sa lokal na industriya ng pagsasaka dito sa syudad.
Sa City of Tacurong Demonstration Farm, isang Field Day nitong Biyernes, Enero 14, 2021, ang isinagawa para talakayin ang mga pamamaraan ng City Agri Office upang makapagpalaki ng mga dekalidad na binhi ng palay na nais nitong ialok sa mga magsasaka bilang kanilang panibagong pananim sa susunod na sakahan.
Mula sa kabuuang lawak ng taniman, pito’t kalahating ektarya lamang ang nakalaan bilang palayan kung saan ang mga lokal na magsasaka ng City Agri Office ay nagpapatubo at masusing nag-aalaga ng tatlong uri ng palay – NSIC RC 506, NSIC RC 438, at NSIC RC 440.
Pinag-usapan at nagbigay rin ng iba’t ibang payo at remedyo sa mga suliranin sa pagtatanim sina Acting City Agriculturist Ivan Gerry G. Arzagon at Farm Superintendent Amie D. Tomala.
Inaasahang sa darating na Pebrero ng taong ito aanihin ang mga palay na gagawing binhi at eksklusibong ibebenta sa mga magsasaka ng Tacurong sa mas mababang presyo kompara sa mga binhing nabibili sa merkado.
Isa ito sa mga hakbang ng lokal na pamahalaan sa pangunguna ni City Mayor Lino O. Montilla upang matugunan ang pangangailangan ng sektor ng agrikultura rito sa lungsod. (DEC-InfoLGU)

Organic farmers in Tacurong receive livelihood inputs

March 28, 2019 – 103 members of City of Tacurong KSK Batch 176 Farmers Association recieved organic fertilizers, organic liquid sprays, seedling trays, vegetable seeds, and capital seed fund amounting to 200 thousand pesos in the Tacurong City Cultural and Sports Complex.

The project is a partnership between the Office for Agricultural Services and City Social Welfare and Development Office. It aims to increase farmers’ annual income up to 20 percent through the production of organic vegetables and establishing a community garden as a income generating project.

Mayor Lina O. Montilla turn over the inputs to the association and gave her message to the group. In her message, she is very happy to see that the group is still active since it started as a recipient of SM Foundation Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Project in 2018. She emphasized the importance of unity that makes the group stronger and stable. She also encourage the group to engage into other business such as carenderia that serves organic vegetable recipies. She further said that by giving this livelihood inputs the City Government is true to its mandate to improve the quality of lives of farmers through livelihood improvement and people empowement and added that we must eat healthy food that are free from harmful pesticides.

Also present in the event were Hon. Welson Ferrer who gave his opening remarks, Ms. Edna Losañes deliverered her welcome address, Ms. Sitrina Draug, representative of CSWD Eufemia Robles, Ivan Gerry Arzagon who talked about the project rationale and mechanics, Ms. Josephine Ubaldo who talked about SEA-K mechanics.
