First female PMA graduate in Tacurong honored

2LT MARIEL DIONE M ROBLES, the first female from Tacurong City to graduate from the Philippine Military Academy, was recognized today, April 2, during the flag raising ceremony at the Tacurong City Hall.

City Mayor Lina O. Montilla personally received Robles and her family, and proudly shared that Robles is the first female in Tacurong and in the province to graduate from PMA.

Montilla is confident that this is only the beginning of more Tacurongnons getting into the academy since the PMA entrance exams are now held in Tacurong every August.

For her part, Robles recounted in her message, “There were lots of adjustments especially during the first years of my training. I was turned back twice, but I never gave up. The support of my family, friends, and the city mayor herself helped me get through the challenges.”

As for other aspiring PMA cadets in Tacurong, she advised, “When you get into the PMA, never give up, swallow your pride, and always pray.”

Robles graduated last March 18, 2018 in Baguio City as a member of PMA Alab Tala Class 2018. She chose to serve in the Philippine Army.(YMR, LGUTac-Info)
