Members of the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) who are fellow local chief executives of the late City Mayor Angelo ‘Roncal’ Montilla, offer their condolences and words of sympathy to the bereaved family. Montilla was elected by his colleagues as Region 12 representative to the LCP despite being a first termer as city mayor. Mayor Angelo ‘Roncal’ Montilla, despite being a first-termer, has immediately gained the trust of his colleagues and made him the voice of Region 12 in the influential League of Cities of the Philippines.
All 145 city mayors in the country gathered together for the first time since the local elections and chose among themselves the new officers who will sit for the current term 2019-2022.
The meeting was held in time with the 68th General Assembly of the LCP held at Edsa Shangri-La on July 19, 2019.
Meanwhile, Mayor Evelio Leonardia of Bacolod City was elected as national president.
Institutionalized under Section 499 of Local Government Code, LCP was organized for the “primary purpose of ventilating, articulating, and crystallizing issues affecting city government administration”. (ASF, LGU Information)
