Fil-Chinese Chamber of Commaxerce donates classroom building to tacurong

The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), through the Tacurong City Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (TC-FCCCII), donated a one-story, two-unit classroom building to Rajah Muda Elementary School (RMES) on 8 August 2022.
In a short turnover program, the donation was welcomed by City Mayor Joseph George L. Lechonsito, City Schools Division of Tacurong City (CSDT) Superintendent Miguel P. Fillalan, Jr., CESO VI; Rajah Muda Punong Barangay Ma. Rhodora P. Pauya, and RMES Head Teacher Mr. Rodolfo M. Agon.
The donation is part of the FFCCCII's 'Operation Barrio Schools' project, an initiative of the Filipino-Chinese families to help address classroom buildings shortage in the country. The turnover also came in time for the 2022 Brigada Eskwela. Classes are to begin on August 22 in a blended capacity and will operate full force in November.
Mr. Reynaldo Lee, President of TC-FCCCII, spoke on behalf of the organization. Their only wish is for the school administration to care for the classroom building properly so it could last as long as it can. He shared that their local group is also planning to initiate their own local school project, separate from the usual national-funded classrooms.
In his message, Mayor Lechonsito responded that Mr. Lee's statement is a welcome news to the local government as he had just allocated a counterpart budget to projects such as this classroom donation.
The mayor also assured the CSDT that an LGU budget has been allocated for 2022 Brigada Eskwela. An office of the LGU will also be deployed to each school to help with their preparation for the school opening. On top of that, Mayor Lechonsito also assured to deploy equipment and personnel from the City Engineering Office to help fix the RMES's grounds that has been damaged due to the incessant rains.
The turnover ceremony was followed by a Blessing by Rev. Fr. Diosdado Esguerra, DCC.
This classroom donation is the second installation of FFCCCII in Barangay Rajah Muda, the first one being at the RMES-BEAM Life.

More PWD kids accept gift from LGU-Tacurong

One hundred seventy-eight (178) more Children with Special Needs cuddled their new stuffed toys as the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tacurong closed the second and last day of its gift-giving activity this year for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), December 22, 2020.

The PWD kids received the same gifts as the first batch – a stuffed toy, a Jollibee meal and two-hundred-peso cash (P200.00) – from the City Mayor’s Office and the benevolent sponsors through the aid of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

City Mayor Angelo O. Montilla once again praised the parents of the Children with Special Needs and dubbed them as “heroes” in his message for their unconditional sacrifice for their kids despite their conditions.

Meanwhile, two (2) of the parents thanked the city government and its partner-stakeholders for the assistance extended to them and two (2) PWD kids sang for the guests at the Tacurong City Cultural and Sports Center.

Once more, Mr. Reynaldo Lee, President of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) and an anonymous sponsor donated another sum of cash amounting to P35,600.00 for the children. Additionally, the PWD kids took home a new “terno” from Mr. and Mrs. PO3 Samuel Javier of S & M Realty, Rev. Octavio Consebit, and parents from Kairos Learning Academy of Tacurong who also sponsored “ternos” for the first batch of gift-giving.

As the proponent of the gift-giving, City First Lady Cora Montilla facilitated the smooth flow of the event. It was also graced with the presence City Councilors David Salazar and Bernardino Umadhay Jr., CSWD Officer Euphemia Robles, JTF-Talakudong Operations Officer Captain Rodrigo Sinoy, and Former City Mayor Lina Montilla.

With the three hundred (300) Children with Special Needs recipients of the gift-giving, including the nine (9) PWD kids who received wheelchairs, the City Government of Tacurong has graciously fulfilled its promise to deliver a much better service and bring even just a simple joy to the PWDs amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
