TaTaPP graduation 2nd batch.

More drug surrenderers in Tacurong graduate TaTaPP

Fifteen drug surrenderers from Barangay Upper Katungal and Barangay Tina became the second batch of graduates or Empowered Brethrens (EB) from the 5-day live in training of the TaTaPP or Tatap Tabang Para sa Paglaom program on March 9, 2017 at the Boy Scout Camp, New Carmen, Tacurong City.

Present during the ceremony were Rev. Fr. Zaldy Robles, DCC, TaTaPP Program Director; Mr. Alberto Sero, CLGOO; PSUPT RANIE HACHUELA, Tacurong City Chief of Police; J/SINSP NIMROD S VALENIA, Jail Warden BJMP-Tacurong City; Punong Barangay Ma. Lourdes Bogador of Brgy. Tina, and the barangay officials of Upper Katungal and Tina.

Also present were the facilitators of the program who are trained volunteers coming from the Nuestra Señora Dela Candelaria Parish, LGU-Tacurong, BJMP, PNP, and DSWD Region XII among others.

The families of the EBs also attended to surprise them while the first batch graduates of TaTaPP attended to extend their support to their fellow EBs.

After the 5-day live in training, the EBs will continue with the TaTaPP program for six months in their respective barangays.

The TaTaPP program is the official community rehabilitation program of Tacurong where it uses a therapeutic community approach. The program also provides training to the EB’s family and community for a truly encompassing recovery. (YMR, LGU-Tacurong Information)

LGU-Tacurong and DSWD open BUB livehood program for 2016

“Kaya ko ang pagbabago!”

With fists up in the air, this was the battle cry of the 399 beneficiaries of the 2016 Bottom Up Budgeting (BUB) program by the City Government of Tacurong and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) during its opening program on June 9, 2016 at the Tacurong City Cultural and Sports Center.

With a working budget of Php1.2 million, the lucky beneficiaries, most of whom are from the 4Ps program, have been granted the opportunity to undergo skills training on Management of Chicken Layers, Management of Laying Ducks, Accelerated Vinegar Production and Technology Demonstration on Accelerator Kit, Backyard Swine Breeding Program, and TESDA-certified Beauty Care NC II, Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) NC II, Carpentry NC II, and Dressmaking NC II. Six hundred thousand pesos of the budget is counterpart of LGU-Tacurong.

Councilor Rodrigo Jamorabon representing the city mayor, CILGOO Alberto Sero, Jr., Meflie Ampoloquio of DSWD Region XII, Ramon Magana of UBAS, and the different barangay officials were in attendance to support the BUB opening program.

According to Ms. Josephine Ubaldo, project evaluator of BUB projects from the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) office, the skills training are slated to begin by the second week of July and targeted to be finished by August 31, 2016. (Yen Robles, LGU-Tacurong Information)
