LGU completes wheelchair distribution to PWDs

The distribution of wheelchairs to fifty (50) more Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the city for this year has been completed as the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tacurong delivered the last eight (8) wheelchairs and food packs to the last batch of beneficiaries yesterday, December 22, 2020.

Through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), the 50 recipients were identified from the list of the most in need PWDs from the twenty barangays of Tacurong.

The last two recipients of wheelchairs yesterday were both stroke patients, Marites Galoso and Bienvinido Cataluña of Brgy. Calean. City Mayor Angelo O. Montilla extended additional support in the form of scholarships to the children of Galoso and Cataluña.

City Mayor Angelo O. Montilla and City First Lady Cora Montilla were there on the very first up to the last day of wheelchair distributions together with the staff of the LGU. They were dedicated to reach each barangay of Tacurong that they personally delivered the wheelchairs to their new owners.

The LGU has made the distribution of the wheelchairs and food packs possible in just four dates – November 27 and December 15,16, and 22 – this 2020 despite the hectic schedule of the city government.

Though this year is closing with the LGU having distributed 50 wheelchairs, the PWDs in the city can surely look forward to more projects and assistance for them next year under the administration of Mayor Montilla. (DEC, LGUTac-Info)
