COALIXON Dance Crew, a trio of dancers from Tacurong City, was declared champion for dance category in the finals round of World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) 2019 held earlier today in Long Beach, California, USA.
Jegad Dail, Chris Jann Lloyd Jaugan, and Welhart Hacosta composed the dance crew that represented the Philippines in the Olympics version of international competition for aspiring performers and entertainers.
Ray Jose Domingo served as trainer of the group that saw their dreams fulfilled in this international tilt.
More than 70 countries competed in this annual event aptly held in the Hollywood area, the entertainment capital of the world.
COALIXON (pronounced as coalition) was also the country’s lone delegation that captured the championship award in any category.
Aside from being Champion of the World in dance that gave them 3 gold medals, the trio also amassed medals in other events.
They collected 3 gold medals in Dance Open Style, 3 gold medals in Dance Hiphop, and 3 silvers in Dance Contemporary.
Philippines fielded more than a hundred delegates in the junior and senior divisions that spanned several categories, including dance, instruments, vocals, modelling, and acting. (ASF, LGU Information)
