Tacurong Receives Award During the 2015 Regional Sandugo Awarding Ceremony

The Department of Health- Regional Office XII says thank you to the different local government units (LGU) and other organizations that supported their National Voluntary Blood Services Program through the Regional Sandugo Awarding Ceremony held on November 12, 2015 at Edjin Pension House, Tacurong City.

The City Government of Tacurong was awarded as one of the Top Local Government Units in Mobile Blood Banking. Other non-governmental entities were also awarded for the same effort in encouraging blood donation and conducting bloodletting drives.

Present to receive the award was City Councilor Rodrigo Jamorabon. In his welcome address, the city councilor recognized the efforts of the different LGUs and other non-governmental organizations in supporting the voluntary blood donation program of the DOH and Philippine Red Cross. “Awareness of blood donation in our region is higher than ever because of our collective efforts,” he added.

The Sandugo Awards is the highest award given to local officials supporting the voluntary blood donation program. This award is given to LGEs for their active involvement to maintain an adequate safe blood supply in the country.(Yen Robles, LGU-Tacurong)
