In an effort to regain public trust in the traffic laws enforcement of the city, the Local Government Unit of Tacurong revamped the Traffic Management Unit of the city’s police station.

Starting with a thorough screening process in July, the applicants were selected based on their previous commendable performance as traffic enforcers. The successful applicants were rehired in August, and then they were sent by the City Human Resource Management Office to attend training and seminars by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region XII. A final test was administered to determine who will become part of the final roster.

On 3 September 2020, twenty three (23) new traffic enforcers were named and were deputized in a program held at the Tacurong City Cultural and Sports Center.

City Mayor Angelo O. Montilla personally witnessed the deputation and encouraged the newly minted enforcers to serve with integrity in order to turn the public’s disdain to that of trust and respect to the city’s traffic unit.

Always a committed partner of the city, Macario D. Gonzaga, Regional Director of LTO Region XII also attended the event bringing with him 16 traffic enforcers from the regional office to brief and orient the new traffic enforcers on the field.

Also in attendance were City Councilor Remo Y. Flores, Vice-Chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlungsod’s Committee on Transportation; PLTCOL REY D EGOS, Chief of Police of Tacurong City PNP; Elma B. Indanao, City Human Resource Management Officer; Engr. Noel Calmorin, Supervising Transportation Regulations Officer; Atty. Shahani M. Racman, Chief of Operation Division, LTO Region XII; and, Mary Ann D. Trabado, LTO Tacurong District Registrar.

Right after the program, the newly deputized traffic enforcers were deployed to the streets to immediately effect the existing traffic laws and ordinances of the city. (YMR, LGUTac-Info)
