LGU Tacurong and the Italian Government through the Department of Agrarian Reform have partnered once again for rural development projects, this time with Barangay Baras as the beneficiary.

The first in a string of projects is the construction of a 0.510 km farm-to-market-road from Purok Daisy to Purok Rose.

On December 13, 2018, a groundbreaking ceremony was held in AS Bernardo National High School for the purpose. City Mayor Lina O. Montilla led the ceremony; she was accompanied by City Engineer Catherine Leguro.

Present to support the event were Punong Barangay Doroteo Delicana and other barangay officials, Engr. Anuar P. Acop of DAR Region XII, Rhea Marie Betque of Provincial Agrarian Reform Office, and Mr. Freddie Delantar, ASBNHS Principal among others.

The farm to market road costs Php11 million, Php6 million of which was grant from the Italian Government while Php4 million was LGU counterpart.

Aside from the road concreting project, Barangay Baras will also receive fifteen (15) units of Potable Water System Level 1 worth Php2 million, solar drier worth Php2 million, and a multi-purpose building worth Php500k. A pre-bidding conference was already held for these projects and are expected to be implemented in early 2019. (YMR, LGUTac-Info)
