Tacurong City hold first Health Summit

The City Health Services Office (CHSO) together with the Department of Health led the first Health Summit in Tacurong City on December 4, 2017 at the Tacurong City Cultural and Sports Center.

Attending together with the Barangay Health Workers were City Mayor Lina O. Montilla who gave the inspirational message, the different Punong Barangay and other barangay officials, Dra. Emilyn Nepucpan and Dra. Miriam Rocco of CHSO, and Dra. Mercedes Manansala of SK-DOH.

Special guest of the event was Carlota Sandigan, Health Education Provincial Officer.

In her inspirational message, Mayor Montilla shared the latest accomplishment of the city, which is the 2017 Seal of Good Local Governance award conferred by the DILG.

One of the criteria of SGLG is access to public health by the constituents. She emphasized that through the hardwork and exemplary service of the BHWs, barangay officials, and the city health personnel, the city was able to bag the coveted award for the second time.

A Health System Technical Roadmap was also presented during the summit. Mayor Montilla led the barangay officials to their 2017 results. The roadmap will help the city and barangay governments in properly addressing the health needs of the people.

The Tacurong City Health Summit was conducted in concurrence with World Aids Day 2017. The City Health Office is providing free HIV tests.(YMR, LGUTac-Info)
