It’s a multiple celebration for the City of Tacurong as it celebrates four festivals in one.

This year’s foundation anniversary and Barangay Day has a theme “Iselebrar ang Tacurongnon nga Kinaiya, Maghugpong kag Maghiliusa”.

Meanwhile, the 9th Sulong Tacurong – Business Week and Barangay Farmers & Entrepreneurs Festival 2018 has a theme “Enhancing MSME’s Competitiveness through Innovation and Technology”.

The opening program was held at the Tacurong City Cultural and Sports Center and was attended by the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, the different Punong Barangays and other barangay officials of the city, Sangguniang Kabataan officers, representatives from the different government offices, the business sector including the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Sultan Kudarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc., the academe, civil society organizations, the employees and heads of offices of the LGU, the PNP, BFP, BJMP, RMFB 12, and JTF Talakudong.

Aligned with the entrepreneurial theme of the festivities, resource speaker for the event was successful agri-entrepreneur Ms. Edna Feliprada, owner of South Valley food products. In her testimony, she encouraged the micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs of the city to not give up and keep on working on their products, and to not be afraid of seeking government assistance in improving production.

In closing, Montilla led the banging of the ceremonial gong to mark the start of the festivities and the official opening of the barangay booths located inside the city gym.

The festivities will run from July 30 to August 3, 2018. (YMR, LGUTac-Info)
