While children’s welfare is always at the fore of the city government’s priorities all year round, this month it especially advocated the same by taking part in the 26th National Children’s Month Celebration.
On 26 November 2018, LGU Tacurong together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the National Youth Commission, and the Council for the Welfare of Children set aside the entire day for activities that highlighted this year’s theme “Isulong: Tamang Pag-aaruga Para sa Lahat ng Bata”.
The activities were composed of an opening program at the Tacurong City Cultural and Sports Center and competitions in spoken poetry, poster making, paligsahan sa sabayang pagbigkas, and essay writing, which were participated by elementary and high school students from both public and private schools.
City Mayor Lina O. Montilla also delivered her annual State of the City’s Children Report during the opening.
Also present to support the event were City Councilors Psyche Sucaldito, Lalaine Montilla, Charito Collado, Renante Duque, Carlos Segura and Welson Ferrer, heads of the different participating schools, teachers, and parents.(YMR, LGUTac-Info)
