LGU-Tacurong City, through the City Human Resource and Management Office, had set various activities for the month-long celebration of the 114th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.

A kick-off ceremony was conducted on September 1, 2014.

As the guest speaker, City Councilor Psyche M. Sucaldito, shared her thoughts on public service: Our work as public servants is not just for the pay; it’s for self-worth and service.

Sucaldito is one of the Ten Outstanding Councilors of the Philippines in 2012, recognized by the Junior Chamber International Philippines (Philippine Jaycees) with the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) and the Office of Sen. Edgardo J. Angara.

Included in the kick-off ceremony were the turn-over of DOLE Kabuhayan Kits to 40 ambulant vendors in the city’s Integrated Public Terminal. Also, fifty employees of different agencies in the city took oath as city fire volunteers before Mayor Lina Montilla.

On September 4, Tacurong City councilors will spearhead their annual blood-letting activity dubbed as Dugong Konsehal.

LGU personnel will celebrate Employees’ Day on September 5. A free eye-check up will also be offered to the employees on the same day.

On September 8, LGU personnel will cook and prepare lunch for six Busog Lusog Talino schools. Busog Lusog Talino is LGU’s daily lunch feeding program in partnership with Jollibee Group Foundation. In BLT, parents of BLT pupils prepare the food daily with the guidance of school teachers. “Even for a day, we give the parents a break from their usual BLT routine. This will also serve as a learning activity for LGU employees,” said Mayor Montilla.

On September 11, LGU employees’ will showcase their teamwork and creativity during the Headgear Parade and Competition. The parade is part of the opening salvo of the Talakudong Festival 2014. After, office heads and officials will participate in the PRIME-HRM Orientation.

On September 16, employees will enjoy free health services such as blood typing and blood pressure taking.

A culmination program and awarding ceremony on September 29 will close the month-long celebration.
