In a bid to expedite the completion of a housing program for informal sector families and low-income earners, members of Selection Committee convened to validate and finalize the list of applicants.
The socialized housing program, located in Barangay Calean, is being implemented by the Local Government Unit of Tacurong City in partnership with the government’s Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) with the help of the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor.
Doing the validation of applicants were City Councilor Nestor Casador and City Councilor Geronimo Arzagon, who currently sit as chairperson and vice-chairperson of the SP Committee on Housing, Land Utilization, and Urban Development, respectively.
They were joined by City Planning and Development Coordinator Amelia Bochorno and Acting City Social Welfare and Development Officer Josephine Tizon, together with their personnel.
Officials from the Philippine Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP), headed by Assistant Chief of Operations for Mindanao Phyllis Daswani, were also on hand to assist in the validation process.
Before the validation, the CPDC Office and the CSWD Office had already done extensive screening of applicants last year.
Around 400 houses and lots are up for grabs for this socialized housing project of the city government intended particularly for Informal Sector Families (ISF) as well as low-income earning LGU employees who do not own real properties. (ASF, LGU Information)
