Rodrigo Salvoro waited until his senior year before finally deciding to get married.

At 60, Salvoro tied the knot with his long time live-in partner, Litecia Caspillo, who is just three years younger than him at 57.

The couple, who already have two adult sons, joined twenty other couples in the Kasalang-Bayan held in Barangay New Carmen in time with its 46th founding day on December 29.

Mayor Lina Montilla officiated the civil wedding that was facilitated by the barangay council and the Office of the City Civil Registry.

The newly-weds did not incur any expenses in the wedding and were even treated to a free lunch after the rites.

“Matagal na kaming nagpaplanong magpakasal subalit ang gastusin ang pangunahing hadlang para matuloy ito”, Salvoro said.

City officials who came and served as sponsors included Councilors Charito Collado, David Salazar and Welson Ferrer.

Liga ng mga Barangay President Amoilo Ortizo and other punong barangays were also present to show their support.
