In celebration of the National Heritage Month, the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, key barangay officials, and student leaders in Tacurong City joined the Cultural Summit organized by the Tacurong City Local Culture and Arts Council in partnership with Notre Dame of Tacurong College (NDTC) on May 30, 2019 at the NDTC Conference Room.Keynote speaker was Dr. Carlo B. Ebeo who discussed his research– Origins, Constructs, and Characterizations of the Peoples of South Central Mindanao. Multi-hyphenate Leonardo Rey S. Cariño also tackled Issues and Concerns on Cultural Appropriation while Prof. Al-Nazzer B. Ali discussed Diffusion and Distribution of Okir Motifs and Patterns: Reflection of Moro Nuances.The cultural summit aims to teach the leader-participants of the origins and cultures of the different peoples in the city in order encourage understanding and tolerance of each other. Ultimately, this will help our local leaders serve their constituents better.
