Sept 18 holiday

This is in line with Tacurong’s celebration of its 14th Cityhood Foundation Anniversary, popularly known as the Talakudong Festival.

Talakudong Festival will officially open on September 11, 2014. The opening, dubbed as Pagtamyaw, will be highlighted by the Headgear Parade. Various agencies and academic institutions will join the parade that will showcase colorful and creative headgears.

According to oral history, Tacurong got its name from talakudong–a native headgear worn by the early settlers in the area.

On September 18, locals and tourists will witness the supreme festival highlight dubbed as Lumbayag sa Dalanon (Streetdancing) and Kiaykiay sa Talakudong (Field Demonstration).
