LGU Tacurong officially joined the growing number of Electronic Business Permit and Licensing System (eBPLS) enabled LGUs in the Country through virtual launching.
The eBPLS is a cloud-based system where business owners can file and renew application for business permits online or electronically after it has been processed by the Local Government.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), mandated to automate the Business Permit and Licensing process in the country innovated the eBLPS to help shorten the processing time and provide timely information on the status of the application or renewal of business permits. This is in accordance with the RA 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 which aims to enhance the business tax collection performance of the LGUs and uplift the quality of service being rendered to the public.
City Mayor Lino O. Montilla promotes this program especially to the business owners and operators to make obtaining and renewing business permits hassle-free and to minimize the influx of people waiting in the offices. In his message, he extended his appreciation to DICT Mindanao Cluster 3 Regional Director Alimbzar P. Asum CESU V and the DICT eBPLS Team for the huge opportunity as Tacurong ventures into automating almost all LGU processes to provide ease of access to all public transactions.
Prior to the launch of the DICT innovated eBPLS, LGU Tacurong’s effort to uphold the Ease of Doing Business Act dates back to the implementation of the Business One-Stop Shop (B.O.S.S) and a localized version of eBPLS developed by the National Computer Center.
