The Regional Development Council Region XII is the primary institution in the region that sets the direction of socio-economic development in Region XII (SOCCSKSARGEN), and through which regional development efforts are being coordinated. The RDC stemmed from Section 14, Article X of the Constitution, which provides that the President shall create Regional Development Councils and other similar bodies composed of local government officials, regional heads of departments and government offices and representatives from non-governmental organizations within the regions. As such, Mayor Lina O. Montilla herself serves as co-chairperson of MEDAFC-XII. (Yen Robles, LGU Tacurong)
