Tacurong City conducts free arts and culture workshops for Heritage Month
Last May was National Heritage Month and the Tacurong City Local Culture
and Arts Council partnered with different organizations in the city
to conduct four (4) free art and culture workshops for the Tacurongnon youth. On May 18-20, the Tacurong Arts Group organized the Panublion Drawing and Painting Workshop. Children and teens learned pottery painting using jars made by local artisans in the city.On the same dates, budding Youtube personalities in the city also learned tips and tricks on vlogging organized by the Rotaract Club Talakudong.
The participants were encouraged to feature local artisans in the city to help promote the local arts scene. Photography beginners and enthusiasts also joined the Through the Lens Photography Workshop conducted by the Junior Chamber, Inc. Tacurong Kampilan on May 18 -22. As privilege for their completion of the workshop, they were made part of the documentation team for the upcoming .Tacurong City Bird Festival on June 21 – 22, 2019.The Tacurong City Writers’ Guild also took under their wings aspiring writers and poets in the city during the Signs of Life Poetry Writing workshop on May 18 – 22.As part of their culmination, arts produced from these workshops were displayed in the Panublion Art Exhibit at Primark Town Center, which ran from May 24 – 31. The culmination program was held on May 30 where certificates of completion and special awards were given to the participants of the four workshops.
