Tacurong City Farmeres receive Indemnity Checks from PCIC

The Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) through the City Office for the Agricultural Services released Indemnity Checks amounting to almost PHP 1-million to one-hundred ninety-two (192) affected farmers in Tacurong City earlier today, July 12, 2022 at the Tacurong City Cultural and Sports Center.
The PCIC is a government owned and controlled corporation under the Department of Finance (DOF) and an attached agency of the Department of Agriculture (DA) which serves as the implementing agency of the government's agricultural insurance program.
Indemnity or insurance claim is part of the PCIC's principal mandate to provide insurance protection to farmers and proactively cover their losses in cases of climate change, weather disturbance and unfavorable changes in agro-climatic conditions.
Also present during the program is City Mayor Joseph George Lechonsito together with Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee Chairperson on Agriculture Hon. Nestor Casador and Sultan Kudarat Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority Provincial Officer - Cherubin Alonzo.
Mayor Lechonsito thanked the PCIC for being an agency farmers of Tacurong City can lean upon during unfortunate events. He also assured plans and programs tailored for the Tacurong City farmers in the next three years as agriculture is one of his top priorities in his current term.
