First among the twenty barangays of Tacurong City, a P5-million multi-purpose center or talipapa will soon erect at Prk. Pag-asa, Brgy. San Pablo following the groundbreaking and blessing ceremony of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tacurong, May 3, 2021.
This talipapa, for its Phase One, will house 12 meat stalls, 12 fish stalls, and 3 comfort rooms – one for each gender and one for Persons With Disabilities (PWD) – and could be expanded with 20 dry good stalls for its Phase Two.
Gracing the event with his Executive Secretary Rogelio Garcia and City First Lady Cora Montilla, City Mayor Angelo O. Montilla conveyed his gratitude to DPWH 12 and congratulated Rodolfo Jacob, Punong Barangay of Brgy. San Pablo, on this milestone. Mayor Montilla also stressed that the emergence of projects like this in the city is due to the people’s effort to unite amid the ranging differences.
In response, Prk. Pag-asa President Noralyn Bayan recognized the multitude of benefits the talipapa could grant the residents of the purok.
Further, Mayor Montilla and Engr. Fernando Mamalo, Jr. of DPWH 1st District Engineering Office led the ceremonial dropping of the capsule along with City Planning Development Coordinator Officer Amelia Bochorno, City General Services Officer Tomas Robles, City Engineering Office representative Engr. Teodolfo Cañoso, and Market Supervisor Roger Cerbo.
