Drug surrenderers, PWDs to receive P1M livelihood package from DOLE
Persons With Disability (PWD) as well drug surrenderers who have completed the community-based rehabilitation program comprise the
66 beneficiaries who are set to receive various livelihood package individually from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12.
The DOLE has already granted LGU Tacurong City the eligibility to receive livelihood projects amounting to P1 after reviewing the proposals submitted earlier.

The Certificate of Availment was awarded by DOLE Regional Director Sisinio Cano earlier today at SM General Santos City in time with the conduct of 2019 Kalayaan Job Fair.

The project is under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), which gives a skilled beneficiary from the informal sector the opportunity to avail of starter kits or nego-karts amounting to P15 to P20 thousand.
Some of the individual starter kits requested by the beneficiaries were welding machines, sewing machines, carpentry tool, compressors for vulcanizing project, and carinderia package among others.

The check for the project is expected to be downloaded by the DOLE to the LGU before the end of this month. After that, procurement will undergo the standard bidding process.
