Holding true to its commitment of granting the city its 3rd COVID-19 Isolation Facility, the Department of Health - Region XII has officially turned over to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tacurong the P10-million worth of newly constructed and solely DOH-funded building in Upper Katungal, Friday, August 20, 2021. Dr. Aristides C. Tan, Regional Director of DOH-12, vowed this additional structure last November 26, 2020 during the inauguration of CROWN-V, the second isolation center in the city, after he was impressed of how the LGU utilized its Bayanihan Grant fund. This 3rd Temporary COVID-19 Treatment and Monitoring Facility can now readily house 26 patients all at once given its bed-capacity of the same number. It is also already fully furnished from its facade to its interior while sporting a number of bathrooms and a reception area. Moreover, during the turnover and blessing ceremony on the above-mentioned date, the key and certificate to the isolation center were personally conferred by RD Tan to City Mayor Lino O. Montilla along with City Vice Mayor Lalaine J. Montilla, City Councilors Remo Flores and Paulino Ledda, Acting City Health Officer Dr. Miriam Roco, and Sultan Kudarat DOH-Representative Dr. Mercedes Manansala. "This will be just the beginning of more provisions from the DOH-12 to LGU-Tacurong," conveyed by RD Tan during his speech as the DOH-12 also entrusts a new ambulance to LGU-Tacurong in ramping up its pandemic interventions. Meanwhile, Mayor Lino also articulated his profuse gratitude to this assistance. He also took pride in sharing to DOH-12 that the LGU is relentless in mitigating this crisis and evident to this is the recent procurement of 2 sub-zero freezers, making Tacurong the 1st in SK Province to acquire a repository for Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Additionally, Mayor Lino expressed his willingness to welcome other LGUs to store their vaccines here in the city using the sub-zero freezers. Also graced the programs with their presence were the Punong Barangays of the city with the host Punong Barangay of Upper Katungal, Hon. Joey Columbres; City Local Government Operations Officer Victoria Dolido, Joint Task Force - Talakudong Commander COL Joel Mamon; Tacurong City Police Station Chief LT. COL Joan Maganto; and Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce - Tacurong President Reynaldo Lee. The blessing of the aforementioned edifice and vehicle was officiated by Rev. Fr. Allen Polaron, DCC. LGU-Tacurong's COVID-19 response won't slow down and stop here as a 4th Isolation Facility, from the funding of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), is already underway.
