To accentuate femininity in its full glory, a Mother’s Day special coffee forum with the theme “Babae May Halaga Ka: ‘Di lang Asawa at Ina” was hosted by the City of Tacurong Council for the Development of Women (CTCDW) on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the Multi-Purpose Hall of Sultan Kudarat State University – ACCESS.

Violence Against Women (VAW) Desk In-Charge from the 7 barangays of Tacurong City, female SKSU-ACCESS representatives, and female uniformed personnel from the Tacurong City Police Station all convened at the venue to witness the film showing of Maricel Soriano’s “Babae”.

An open forum then ensued to solicit opinions regarding the movie and its relevance to women’s lives and role in the society.

While ideas may have clashed, the exchange of points of view ended on a positive note saying that women empowerment does not only stop with women educating themselves but also transcends beyond men and their understanding of the female.

The discussion was paneled by CTCDW Adviser Nancy Bawe, CTCDW Vice President Susie Daza, and CTCDW Ex-Officio Member Jocelyn Panizales.

The council expressed its gratitude to all participants through a raffle. VP Daza also delivered CTCDW’s thanks towards SKSU for its accommodation through a token.

SKSU Vice President for Academic Affairs Christine Abo represented SKSU President Rolando Hechanova and welcomed the guests who graced the event. (DEC, LGU-TacInformation)
