An overwhelmed City Mayor Joseph George L. Lechonsito attended his very first Monday flag raising ceremony today, July 4, to a city hall facade packed with LGU employees. "I feel so overwhelmed because I did not expect to see so many faces today. Thank you," he said. "I hope to see you all like this every Monday because it's the only time we get to see each other." As the city government's head, he also assured that his administration is not a vindictive one. He maintained that it doesn't matter whom the employees voted for during the elections. He is here to see performance just as he is here to perform to the best of his abilities.
He also added that his doors are always open to any employee who needs anything from him or his office.
City Vice Mayor Lina O. Montilla and the rest of the members of the 9th Sangguniang Panlungsod are also present during the ceremony. They were dressed in their uniforms, that is their Filipiniana attire, as they shall always be seen, because they headed straight to their week's session right after.
Mayor Lechonsito's candor in his early morning message put the employees at ease. The Monday started for them knowing that the new head of the city government is welcoming and reassuring.
