Capping off the series of progressive constructions, Brgy. Upper Katungal has finally inaugurated its newly-completed barangay hall in Prk. Silangan, Tuesday, July 13, 2021.
The two-story structure is a local initiative of the City Government of Tacurong with a total funding of P2.7 million from the City Support Fund. Its completion was mostly prioritized under the administration of the late City Mayor Angelo O. Montilla.
Aside from the hall, Brgy. Upper Katungal also sports a new Multi-Purpose Building valued at P1.2 million from their Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA).
Moreover, Executive Assistant Rogelio Garcia represented City Mayor Lino O. Montilla and also led the ribbon cutting of the grand opening along with Punong Barangay Joey P. Columbres.
Garcia also relayed Mayor Lino’s words of gratitude and commendation for the collaborative efforts of the various partner-stakeholders to materialize this undertaking for Brgy. Upper Katungal. On his message, Mayor Lino also conveyed that he felt as though the late Mayor Angelo was just behind him, happily seeing Brgy. Katungal prosper with these additional constructions.
Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. Diosdado Esguerra, DCC officiated the blessing of the infrastructures and of the elf truck that Brgy. Upper Katungal acquired from the Department of Agrarian Reform – Italian Assistance to the Agrarian Reform Community Development Support Program (DAR-Italian).
Also taking part to the program were the Municipal Agrarian Reform Officer Jacinta Fabale, City Engineer Catherine E. Leguro, City Planning and Development Coordinating Officer Amelia A. Bochorno, Bgry. Upper Katungal officials and Lupon Tagapamayapa, and other esteemed guests. (DEC, LGU-TacInformation)
