77 graduate from TESDA-funded slaughtering operations training

TACURONG CITY, 28 January 2015—Seventy-seven individuals from different parts of Region XII graduated from a TESDA-sponsored Slaughtering Operations Training conducted on November 19-December 23, 2014.
They compose the second and third training batches of the said program.

Raida Mae Calauod was one of the only two ladies who underwent the 35-day training. “Of course there are no exceptions during the training. Kung anong gagawin ng mga lalaki, ganun din sa amin. Tig-isa talaga kami ng kakatayin para matuto,” Calauod shared.

“Kung may gusto kang gawin na parang kakaiba o challenge, gawin mo. Hindi lang dahil kaya mo kundi dapat Masaya ka din,” she said. Calauod plans to continue honing her skills and seek for employment overseas. She already passed the National Competency Assessment with her fellow graduates.

TESDA funded the training for more than 100 individuals across Region XII who all wants to be skillful butchers for employment here and abroad.

“Nasa 1.8 million pesos and inilaang budget para sa programang ito,” according to TESDA OIC Provincial Director Reynaldo Bernal.

TESDA commissioned D’ New Orleans Training Center Phils., Inc., one of its accredited training center, to facilitate the training sessions.

Tacurong Mayor Lina Montilla graced the graduation ceremony and encouraged all graduates to continue enhancing their skills. (LGU-Tacurong City Information)
