391 beneficiaries finish skills training under Bottom-Up Budgeting 2016

On August 30, 2016, the City Government of Tacurong, through its City Social Welfare and Development Office, and in partnership with DSWD, DOST, and TESDA, proudly presented its 391 graduates of skills training on Sustainable Livelihood Program under the Bottom-Up Budgeting 2016 in a closing ceremony at the Tacurong Sports and Cultural Center.

The graduates, all of whom came from the different barangays of the city and some being 4Ps beneficiaries and people with disabilities, trained in Management of Chicken Layers, Management of Laying Ducks, Accelerated Vinegar Production and Technology Demonstration on Accelerator Kit, Backyard Swine Breeding Program, Beauty Care NC II, Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) NC II, Carpentry NC II, and Dressmaking NC II.

Along with their newly acquired skills, the graduates were also provided with tools and kits to help them start with their livelihood.

Present during the closing ceremony were Mr. Alberto Sero of the DILG, city councilors Arzagon, Ferrer, Flores, Salazar, and Segura; and the different barangay captains and barangay officials. Representing the city mayor was Rodrigo Jamorabon. Representatives from DSWD Field Office XII, headed by Ms. Noraidah T. Busran, were also present.

The Sustainable Livelihood Program of the Bottom-Up Budgeting 2016 had a working budget of Php1.2 million. Training began in July 2016 and ended in August. (Yen Robles, LGU-Tacurong Information)
