The Department of Education XII recognized A.S. Bernardo Memorial National High School and Ma. A. Montilla Memorial Elementary School (MAMMES) in Tacurong City as the region’s Best Implementers of 2014 Brigada Eskwela during the 7th Regional Management Committee Meeting cum Awarding Ceremony on September 5, 2014 at MAMMES.
With the wins of the City Schools Division of Tacurong (CSDT), DepEd Regional Director Allan Farnazo dubbed Tacurong City as the ‘runaway winner’ of this year’s Brigada Eskwela regional awards.
This is the second year that A.S. Bernardo MNHS was declared champion for Brigada Eskwela Best Implementer-Small High School Category.
MAMMES finally took the championship title this year after having been a consistent runner-up in 2012 and 2013. MAMMES is under the Brigada Eskwela Best Implementer-Small Elementary School Category.
Meanwhile, VF Griño Memorial National High School was 1st runner-up for Best Implementer in Exceptional School Category-High School. Tacurong Pilot Elementary School was also recognized 2nd runner-up in the Exceptional School Category-Elementary.
Farnazo noted the strong support of the LGU improving the status of elementary and high schools in the City. The LGU is consistent in providing for programs that enhance skills and competencies of teachers and students through its Special Education Fund. The LGU also provides infrastructure and manpower support to its City Schools Division. The LGU also works with CSDT in implementing nutrition programs for schoolchildren such as the Busog Lusog Talino Program.
Farnazo also recognized the noble efforts of teachers all over the region. “Sa ceremony na ito, schools division ang ating kinikilala. Sana sa pagbalik ninyo sa kanya-kanyang lugar ay mabigyan din ninyo ng mukha ang bawat award na inyong natanggap. Kilalanin ninyo ang bawat guro na naghirap para sa mga ito,” said Farnazo.
