The Provincial Government and the Assessors’ League of Agusan del Sur that included a team from Bayugan City and 12 other municipalities went to Tacurong for an educational mission to be informed of the latter’s processes on real property assessment, particularly on the formulation of Schedule of Market Value or SMV.

Agusan del Sur Provincial Assessor Cesar Rufila led the 42-member visiting team comprised of the provincial government personnel as well as employees coming from its component Local Government Units or LGUs.

Other team members came from the municipalities of Trento, Prosperidad, Loreto, Bunawan, Sta. Josefa, San Francisco, Rosario, Talacogon, Veruela, La Paz, San Luis, and Esperanza.

After a 6-hour travel from Agusan del Sur, the visitors arrived at the city hall in the morning and were received by City Assessor Ermie Fernandez and City Treasurer Jessie Batchar.

Besides gathering information on assessment, the group also collected inputs on the City Revenue Code of Tacurong.

After spending ample time at the Office of the City Assessor, the group proceeded to the office of OIC Mayor Lino Montilla for a courtesy call and another round of talk.

City Administrator Roberto Ayco also discussed with the visitors some of the practices on local governance of the local government unit.

Rufila said that their benchmarking activity will be very helpful to their respective LGUs as they are currently preparing for the General Revision on all real properties in their province scheduled for next year. (ASF, LGU Information)
